What a difference one missing letter can make…
Mistakes like this can destroy years of effective brand-building in a flash. Luckily the company that misprinted this billboard owned up to the mistake and corrected it by the end of the day. But, this often happens in the printing industry. A customer will approve the proof after a casual glance and be irate when they get the final product and it is misprinted.
At NHS Creative, before we send any piece of advertising or promotion to print, we always send a proof. As the approver, it’s imperative to thoroughly check over your proof for simple typo mistakes and omissions.
Whilst everyone does their upmost to prevent errors, unless there has been a production error the ultimate responsibility will come down to the person who approved the job. Please make sure and carefully read all text to ensure the layout and spelling is all correct before agreeing a proof. And remember, you cannot always rely on spell-check!
