NHS Creative team members go the extra mile (or 26.2 miles to be precise)
It’s not uncommon at the turn of the year to set yourself a challenge, but two staff from NHS Creative have taken things a bit far by signing up to the London Marathon.
Both Steve Hubbard, Advertising and Marketing Manager, and Mikaela Price, Marketing Account Manager, will be running in aid of Oxfam.
Mik says:
“As well as fulfilling a lifelong ambition, I hope to do my little bit to support an amazing charity in their fight against world poverty. I’m nervous and excited…the furthest I’ve ever run is a half marathon and so I’m hoping my knobbly knees go the distance!”
And Steve says:
“I always enjoyed running as a kid, and every April I’d enviously watch the London Marathon on TV, thinking what an experience it must be to participate. Adult life – and a sedentary job – took over, until last summer I decided to try my local 5k parkrun on Southampton Common. The buzz of running as part of a large group awoke my enthusiasm for the sport and it wasn’t long before I felt inspired to increase my distance. And so as I enter my 40th year in 2017, I’ve decided to finally take on ‘the big one’!”
Both will be attempting to run the 26.2 mile distance for the first time. So if you think that’s worthy of your support, please visit their JustGiving pages:
